Still Waiting
No news on whether or not Shelley is a match - hopefully we'll hear soon! The doctors are formulating a schedule for her pre-transplant chemo's. First up is the outpatient surgery that she will have to put in her triple-lumen catheter from which she will be given all of her treatments. She's had one before, so this is something she is familiar with. That could happen as soon as next week, but we really don't have a timetable yet. In the meantime, I just wanted to tell everybody about a fundraiser that they are having here in Atlanta, sponsored by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, called "Light the Night". This is a great group that we have raised funds for in the past, and I've been to their offices in Atlanta. They are working hard to help fund research and support services offered to Leukemia and Lymphoma patients. It's a great organization. Lindsey's friend, Sandra, whom we met during her first transplant (I've mentioned her here before) is participating in this wonderful Event, and she has a page on the website - the link is below. If you can, please make a donation - we'd be doing this ourselves if Lindsey wasn't in treatment right now, so it's great that Sandra is there so that we feel like we are participating. On the homefront, we've been keeping busy getting the basement cleared out so that we can begin finishing work in preparation for Lindsey and Jacobs move here. We've already had the electrician in to give us his bid and the carpenter comes Wednesday. We're making progress !
