Happy St. Valentine's Day

Lindsey checked into Northside Hospital last night and her counts are sky high ~ very good for stem cell collection. Last week her WBC was 16 and now it's a whopping 40 ! We hope that bodes well for a successful collection. They will hook her up to the machine at about 8:00 a.m., and it takes about an hour. We won't have results until about 3:00 this afternoon. They expect that it may take a few days so we are here until we get 5 million cells. Let's hope it doesn't take too long, as boredom is the order of the day. If you think being in the hospital when you are sick stinks, being in the hospital when you aren't sick is no better! This is a pretty hospitable place, however; they've got wireless internet, a TV with a DVD player, and all the popsicles you can eat ~ Haven't judged the food yet, but there's a McDonald's downstairs if we need it. If we're still here tonight, I'm going to try to smuggle in a decent meal from a nice local restaurant for Valentine's Day. Lindsey can have visitors, but no flowers, fresh fruits or vegetables are allowed in this wing. Please call first if you think you might visit, since we don't really know how long we'll be here !
