Stem Cell Collection Starts !

We got some numbers ~ Lindsey's white count went from .4 on Wednesday to 4.6 on Thursday to 13.1 today, so they are beginning stem cell collection. Her platelets were a little low, so they are giving her platelets first; it will be a long day. Andy and Lindsey left the house at 6:15 this morning and they will be there until at least 3 o'clock, maybe longer. I got the day off~but we will be going again tomorrow, and every day until they get 5 million stem cells. They predict it will only take 2-3 days to get that many, but it can take as long as 10 days, so we just take them one at a time. Lindsey received two liters of whole blood yesterday, and now that her white counts are up she won't have to wear a mask in public................thanks to everyone who has been donating blood and platelets! Due to the privacy laws, Atlanta Blood Services cannot tell us who has donated, but we know who you are, and it is greatly appreciated ! If you'd like to donate, please call them at 404/459-8744. Turns out Lindsey is a rare blood type (A negative), so we could use blood donations from anyone who is that type; blood type doesn't matter when it comes to donating platelets, so please help if you can.
