Catheter Out
This morning we got up before the roosters and drove to Piedmont Hospital so that Lindsey could have her catheter removed. We had a 5:30 a.m. appointment, and they did the outpatient procedure using a local anesthetic. We were on the way home by 8:30, and arrived just in time for Shelley's pancakes! Having her catheter out is wonderful. This is a huge milestone. It means that the doctor's feel that she is well enough to recover on her own. No more blood products or fluids, no more long days at the clinic ~ Good Friday has a new meaning for us this year ! We are planning a nice weekend and a big Easter Celebration on Sunday. We're having a larger than usual crowd for dinner, at the same time being careful that Lindsey isn't exposed to germs - no sick people invited!
