Expecting the checkered flag, but got a yellow instead !
Just when we could see the finish line coming around the turn..............Lindsey's chest congestion didn't completely go away, so we took her in so that the doctors could have a look. Sure enough, she's got the beginnings of pneumonia. Actually, it could be the end of pneumonia, since she's been on an antibiotic, but nonetheless, a test has been ordered. Thursday morning, Lindsey will have a bronchoscopy (I'm sure I botched that spelling!). They will take a look with a camera and scrape a piece off of a cloudy area that showed up on her X-Ray. Since the transplant, the doctors have said that pneumonia is a big concern, and sure enough, she didn't escape it..............the weird thing is her lack of symptoms; no outward signs of congestion, but she heard some "gurgling" in her lung on Sunday night. Of course her mother had to spoil her week by calling the doctor, but that's my job! 100 days or not, it's not over until it's over. The main reason for the procedure is to be sure they put her on the proper antibiotic ~ normally they would just try one and see if it worked, but we don't have that kind of time to waste ~ we've got a wedding coming up! "W minus 30 days" starts tomorrow!
