Help us build
I got this idea from a book I read that was a chronology of another person's transplant experience. I thought it would be a wonderful way to help lift Lindsey's spirits on her road to recovery. Perhaps you would like to contribute to the effort.
We would like to begin building a paper chain to hang here at the hospital and then at home when she is released. Each link in the chain will be a message that is written to encourage Lindsey in the rebuilding of her bone marrow and her recovery.
You simply take a piece of paper that is about an inch wide and six inches long and write a message on it. It could be words of encouragement, Bible verses, a humorous story or joke, or whatever you'd like. Write on both sides of the paper.
Mail your piece of paper to Lindsey and after she reads it, we will fold it in a circle and join it to the previous link in the chain. As she watches the paper chain grow, she will know that her stem cells are also growing and making her well again.
This will be a wonderful way for Lindsey to visually see how much we love her and are cheering for her every step of the way. We'd like to run rings around this room with love and support from all of you.
