28 After Transplant

The doctors told Lindsey that she would feel normal by the end of the month, and here we are ~ they were right ! Yesterday was a beautiful day in Atlanta. Lindsey can't be around large groups of people, but we spent a lot of the day running errands and even ate at a restaurant that has outdoor seating. Lindsey really enjoys just doing 'normal' things again . . . Jacob arrived last night and they are both at the clinic today - - - she just got her bloodwork numbers and her platelets are heading back up ! She is up 10 points today, so there is no reason to give her any infusions. She's getting fluids and coming home. This is her LAST DAY in the clinic, and they are putting in her discharge orders. She will have to go back to Northside for a few days next week for bloodwork and to have her catheter removed. The following week she will have a meeting with her doctor and she will be released to her local oncologist here in Fayetteville. He will decide what happens after that, but we expect bloodwork visits and 'face time' in front of the doctor regularly, so that he can look her in the eye. Thanks to everyone who donated blood products on Lindsey's behalf at Atlanta Blood Services ~ thank you ~ thank you ~ thank you ~ !
