Day 13 and counting

We've done two 7 hour days at the BMT Clinic since Lindsey was released from the hospital on Tuesday. Tuesday night she had a bad night's sleep, and was very weak and tired at the clinic on Wednesday. Her mucousitis was particularly troublesome, and she will have to deal with that to some degree for about a week. The mucousitis causes her to have a lot of heavy secretions in her gastro-intestinal system, causing a "sour stomache" and a heavy phlegm-type deal in her throat. (It was also difficult to rest through the night after the pattern of waking up almost hourly in the hospital to take vital signs.) The staff at the BMT Clinic said that a lot of people complain about their sleeping patterns after being released from the hospital, so that is normal. Thursday was a very different day ~ after a much better night's sleep, she was more awake and animated at the clinic, and got some homework done. She finished 2 projects that she had been working on and sent them in to her teacher. Hard to believe, but during all of this, Lindsey is actually completing her degree ! I know that I don't have to tell you that she is an amazing young woman !
