Today is Day 9. The staff here in the hospital has been handling all of Lindsey's issues as they come up, and they are doing a great job. Lindsey's white blood count bottomed out over the weekend, and we expect to see them begin their expected rise tomorrow. That is all part of the plan. Now her newly inserted stem cells will begin to rebuild her bone marrow. She's on antibiotics as well as medicines to control her throat pain. She has low grade fevers that come and go. The skin on one of her fingers cracked (from lots of hand washing) and it got infected, so they are taking care of that also. When they gave her the antibiotic to counter the finger infection, she had a little reaction to the antibiotic, so they gave her IV Benedryl for that. All of these things are quite common and the nurses and doctors are right on top of everything. One of her nurses brought in a DVD for us to watch ~ The Devil Wears Prada ~ so that's what we'll be watching tonight !
