Our Prayers Have Been Answered

We've got a match ! The HLA Testing Results are in and Shelley is a "perfect" match and will be the donor for Lindsey's Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant. This is absolutely the best scenario that we could have hoped for. Lindsey will have a much easier transplant experience because of a sibling tissue match, and her GHVD (Graft vs. Host Disease) should be much less severe because Shelley's stem cells are similar to hers. Praise God ! Lindsey is scheduled to have her triple lumen catheter put in on Tuesday morning, and will have her first pre-transplant chemotherapy session on Wednesday. She will stay at our house through the week, and probably return home on Saturday. We expect that her first chemo will be well tolerated, and that she will be feeling fine by the weekend. After our meeting with her doctor on Wednesday, we will have a better idea of the timeline of her treatment. Hopefully, we will get all of our questions answered then. Andy and I are taking a needed break down at our place in Florida. It's a part work, part relaxing couple of days, and we will be back home Sunday. My next blog entry will probably be early next week. Keep praying !
