Ready to Go

Jacob and Lindsey spent a relaxing weekend at Furman University, visiting Seth who is a redshirt freshman on the football team. It was family weekend, so they wanted to be there to represent the Skogen family and spend time with Seth who is recovering from foot surgery. They stayed at a lake house owned by our good friends, the Grahams. Weather was great and they even got to use the jet ski's. Andy and I spent some time down at our rental place in Florida, checking it out and fixing a few things; as well as entertaining our friends from Alabama, Keith and Kay Morris and their daughter, also named Shelley. We had a great time with them and got some needed R & R. While there we watched OUR Shelley play soccer - the Mercer team played in Jacksonville on Friday and Sunday, and we saw both games. Shelley scored the winning goal on Friday night against Jacksonville University, and the team was also victorious against University of North Florida on Sunday. Shelley has a few days off of school, so she will join us back at home on Sunday night and stay until Tuesday afternoon. Lindsey and Jacob will come down Monday night in preparation for her catheter placement early Tuesday morning. Our appointment is at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, and Lindsey's first chemo treatment will be on Wednesday. They will stay with us a few days to make sure that Lindsey doesn't have an adverse reaction to the treatment, but we don't expect any problems. I'll post again on Tuesday after her catheter procedure.
